I offer a hand scribed look on the kiln-dried Lodge Log home, and I
recommend this if you are looking for such a home. Insurance is easy to
obtain. ( It is difficult to insure and maintain a full hand-scribed log
home and quite expensive). I have been selling log homes for 30 years, and
have never found a problem with a Lodge Log Home.
I also offer a log with flat walls on the inside, called a D log in the 9”
and 10” diameter logs only. An 8” log wall can be
heated and cooled for approximately 30% less money than a conventional
home. Our log wall system comes with a LIFETIME WARRANTY, which is one
of the best warranties on the market for log homes. Note: Homes with log
siding on insulated stick-framed walls cost more to build and heat than a
full round log wall. But we can add on to any stick
framed home and put log siding on the existing making it look like a real
log home.
The strength and stability of a Lodge Log Home withstood the San Francisco
earthquake without a single broken window. (Four Lodge Logs
homes were near the epicenter) All conventional
buildings in the same area were destroyed.
